Shiraz DARVAZE KORAN OR KORAN GATEWAY The ancient gated entrance to Shiraz. Also, the burial tomb for Mir Ali, grandson of Imam Musa Kazem, the seventh Saint in Shiite Islam. Karim Khan added a room at the top of the gateway to house a holy Koran so people when entered the city they passed under the Koran (now the Koran is kept in Pars Museum). The complex also includes tomb of Khaju-ye Kermani, the famous poet contemporary to Sadi. Climb up the hill to the teahouse. Watch steep steps. The view of Shiraz is breathtaking from this spot.
