Jame Mosque

  • Jame Mosque (Friday Mosque) was built during Seljuq period. It is located in Bazaar district.

  • This sand colored impressive mosque has been restored several times but the mehrab (a special area in mosque decorated with tile and calligraphy showing the direction to Mecca) still retains its very fine original plaster moldings of 13th century. It also has a large dome.

  • Due to restoration and renovation, most of present structure dates back after Seljuq Dynasty. The beautiful color and original moldings of this mosque make it worthwhile to visit.
