Church of Saint Thaddaeus
- Church of Saint Thaddaeus which is also known as Ghara Kelisa (Azari for Black Church) Is one of the most attractive and noticeable buildings in Azarbaijan.
- The oldest and original part of the church around the altar dates back from the tenth or eleven century and its roof is made of black stones. That is why is called Ghara Kelisa. The remainder of this structure is more recent from 17th or 19th century.
- The original church was built by apostle Thaddaeus; he was buried here after he died as a martyr.
- Armenians from all over Iran camp once a year for three days on this pilgrimage to attend special services on the anniversary of the death of Saint Thaddaeus. The feast day is around June 19.
