INGREDIENTS

  • Some of the main ingredients in Persian cooking may be consisted of rice, saffron, feta cheese, fresh and dry vegetables, seeds, spices and herbs.

  • Most ingredients can be purchased from your local grocery stores even some Iranian spices and herbs. There are many Iranians who live throughout the world so there are always a Persian grocery store somewhere available for purchase of any ingredient that you were not able to find in a local store.


Saffron

  • Iranians were one of the first people who used many varieties of herbs as parts of food. Herbs are used for flavor or medicinal purposes (i.e. dry mint).
